Beginning his musical journey at the age of five, Akalonu explored early passions by joining a West African drumming ensemble where he learned to play the djun djun, djembe, and other percussion instruments from across the region.

Collabs

In 2022, Akalonu co-executive produced Meadows’s debut album, From Harlem with Love, in addition to co-producing the single “Lock In” with BNYX®.

He also served as a key producer on rising R&B artist Saleka’s debut album Seance.

Akalonu would go on to study music at Brown University, where he began making a name for himself by exploring meaningful collaborations; notably forming the musical duo and creative company pearl with fellow artist, producer and composer Warner Meadows. The two released five singles with accompanying music videos and an instrumental EP, all while co-creative directing every aspect of their work.

He is currently working on his own debut project, which will serve as his first foray into displaying his concentrated creative vision.
